So back to the problem of drinking fluoride – or rather, how to avoid that problem to begin with. The answer isn’t necessarily bottled water. Bottled waters vary widely in quality. Some are no more than packaged water from municipal supplies. Where those supplies are fluoridated, so is the bottled water. Sometimes the water is […]

So if fluoridation isn’t all that, what about applying fluoride directly to the teeth? Are the benefits worth the risk? The idea that topical fluoride is safer and more effective than fluoride you swallow is a common one. Hence, all the toothpastes, mouthwashes, and other home hygiene products with added fluoride, as well as the […]
For more than 50 years, the American Dental Association has published a book they call Fluoridation Facts. The newest edition just dropped. Like earlier versions, it justifies and endorses the fluoridation of public water supplies, while dismissing any cause for concern. The idea of water fluoridation took root in the observations of Frederick McKay, a […]
Is your tap water safe to drink? Does it contain lead or other heavy metals or toxins? Situations like the one in Flint, Michigan have people increasingly concerned. A new tap water study shows that kids who drink tap water have higher lead levels but less tooth decay. The authors contend that this is because […]
For over 70 years, conventional dentistry has considered fluoride, both in public water supplies and dental products, a panacea against tooth decay. Yet does current science support this? A new Cochrane Review, for instance, set out to evaluate evidence of whether fluoride supplements taken during pregnancy help prevent tooth decay in children’s primary teeth. Surprisingly […]
For a third time, the Fluoride Action Network has petitioned the EPA to get the “F” out of our water – fluoride, that is. And once again, the agency denied the petition that would have banned the practice of fluoridating US water supplies. Rather than exercising caution and employing the precautionary principle, the EPA’s ruling squarely places a legal […]
When it comes to witty truths, no one was more prolific than Mark Twain. And when we read about the recent Canadian study claiming that the end of fluoridation in Calgary caused a spike in children’s cavities, we couldn’t help but think of one particular truth often attributed to him (whether he actually said it […]
When Representative Donna Lichenegger first introduced her fluoride notification bill to the Missouri House of Representatives a couple years ago, it failed to make it to the floor for debate. So last year, she re-filed it. The bill made it out of the Senate Committee but failed to get final approval. Now, she’s trying again. […]
About a year ago, voters in Portland, Oregon, said “no” to fluoridation. And since then, it seems the pace of change has really picked up, with more residents in more towns and cities standing up and saying no to this well-intentioned but misguided practice. Here in Missouri, residents in Buffalo recently gave a resounding no […]

Experiencing More Energy
Since the completion of removal of nine amalgam fillings and replacement of them with eight porcelain onlays and one composite filling. I have noted a distinct increase in energy. This has been through being able to work longer during the day, but also in having more energy during the day. I also seem to be able to recover more quickly from days of higher than normal physical stress. The only significant difference in my general lifestyle during this time period was the replacement of my amalgam fillings, which leads me to believe that this event was most probably responsible for my health improvement.
I would note that both physicians whom I see, my general practitioner and my allergist had strongly recommended that for several years that I take this action. Testing prior to the procedure confirmed that I had a much higher than safe mercury level in my body . . .
